A deep compositional characterization of the fluid, as well as the knowledge of the fluid behavior at the operational conditions, are key to run processes diagnostic and define and present process optimizations that our clients requiere

Fluid characterization. Some analysis and studies

  • Characterization of Produced Fluids

    • Phases identification, compositional and chemical analysis (gas, solids, oil, and water). Asphaltenes stability studies

    •  Fluid physical properties: rheology/viscosity, densities, thermal properties, contact angle and wettability

    •  Surface and interfacial properties

Emulsion characterization

Emulsion Treatment and Optimization

  • Review of the chemical formulations, dosages and injection points

  • Bench top testing to identify kinetic of emulsion separation as a function of dosages and operational conditions

  • Determination of over-treatment dosage limit that impact separation. Formation of interfaces

  • Effect of asphaltenes precipitation on emulsions stability and effect of aromatic dispersants

  • Formulation and test at bench level of novel chemical combinations, more effective and convenient form the economic point of view to treat emulsions. Planning and running pilot test at the production facilities

Our Laboratory Facilities

Some of the techniques include: microscopic analysis, rheology and viscosity, emulsification, emulsion estability analysis, centrifugaation, interfacial tension, contact angle, etc.

Novel Technologies Activities

The company is dedicating an effort in the development and evaluation of new technologies with direct applicability to the energy sector and some others industrial areas:

  • Multi-Phase Flow Measurement – Real-time, accurate mass flow rateï‚·

measurement in piping systems simultaneously carrying two or more physical
phases such as crude oil, water, hydrocarbon vapour, and/or solvent/non-
solvent additives.

  • Hybrid Separation – Combination of two methods used for separation of

water from water in oil emulsion to enhance separation effectiveness.

  • Passive De-Oiling – Utilization of static in-line apparatus to enhance de-oiling

of water phase, without need of energy of chemicals.
ï‚·

  • Waste Heat Recovery – Low grade waste heat recovery and utilization.
